We’ll give you a “Show and Tell” at each station about all we’ve built since 2000 including our solar array, geothermal heating – cooling – supplemental hot water system, cisterns to collect rain water, highly zoned soaker - irrigation system, square foot garden, vertical gardens, perennial [vegetable – fruit] garden, high efficiency wood burning stove, 2 year firewood stock, distiller – carbon filter for drinking water, compost bin, honey bees, deep freezer for ice box back-up for fridge, grid-down mini-market, deer stand, etc.

We’ll also address all we’re working towards including battery storage so when the grid goes down my family isn’t, aquaponics, root cellar, vermiculture, biochar, next level cistern water purification, expanded solar array, electric car, solar thermal hot water, etc.

To whet your appetite check out these shots from last year’s event: Pics.

For some background context we purchased our home in 2000 when our son Stephen was 2 years old and I gradually developed a threefold vision for our property and built it, roughly in this sequence:

1.  A child’s paradise.
2.  A garden and sculpture sanctuary.
3.  An ever-more self-reliant homestead.

I mention this because you will see it all running through our little homestead, but the focus of this event is the third. Stephen is now 19 and just finished his first year at St. Bonaventure. His got a double major in Party 101 and Wise Ass 102. So I’m seeking ways to repurpose the Child’s Paradise part to serve underprivileged children. I’d welcome your ideas.

For clarity’s sake the objectives of this event are to:

1.  Have fun, be informative and informal.
2.  Mutually brainstorm new ideas to drive to higher levels of self-reliance on ½ a suburban acre.
3.  Promote Geotherm’s current offerings of solar electric, geothermal heating – cooling – supplemental
hot water and battery storage for true energy
4.  Independence and to do so in a relaxed non-commercial manner.
5.  Begin to assess market interest for additional offerings in the Residential Renewables sector for Geotherm
to develop next.
6.  Promote all the other presenters who have taken the time to be present.

So come with a note pad, let’s get busy brainstorming and have some fun while we do!

Pictures of “The 1st Residential Renewables Open House”

This event was successful in that we had somewhere between 30 – 40 folks attend, lots of excellent interaction, everyone seemed to enjoy and gain from it, I was given some new ideas to pursue in full OCD mode asap [composting worms, hops growing trellis, +++] and our neighbors kids were wonderful greeters, servers and hosts.

If you’d like to see more pictures from this event click here: Pics.

To help us understand the market potential for “Future Residential Renewables Offerings”, beyond Solar and Geothermal, it would help us immensely if you would take two minutes to complete this: 1st Survey!

Once we understand where the demand is then we’ll develop our next level offerings.

For introductory and in depth educational information on Solar and Geothermal please go to www.geothermNY.com.

We counsel our clients on financing and tax credit cash flow strategies that can make these investments nearly zero out of pocket.

Many who responded to the prior survey called “What is Your BIGGEST Life Challenge?” here: http://www.sjhealey.com/prosperity/survey-results requested help with Self-Reliance.

So I’ve added a new section to my  website called exactly that here http://www.sjhealey.com/selfreliance.

To assist me in understanding how best to help you I’d appreciate it if you would take two more minutes to complete this: 2nd Survey!

Given that I only gave one week’s notice for this event, and it was a summer weekend, the attendance level was good, plus it was good practice.

We plan to offer the 2nd Residential Renewables Open House in the spring of 2017. By that time hope to have implemented geothermal heating-cooling-hot water, composting worms and more!

The only change is that we’ll being doing the guided tour in a continuous loop all afternoon so you can arrive and join in whenever you want.

In Light!
Steve

There will be guided tours at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 pm for groups of 10 on a first come first serve basis. If you can’t make it on the hour feel free to stop by any time between 1–5 pm and join in or walk around on your own and explore, engage and get energized.

We’ll show you and speak to all we’ve built since 2000 including our solar array, cisterns, soaker irrigation system, square foot garden, vertical gardens, perennial [vegetable – fruit] garden, wood burner, firewood stock, distiller – carbon filter for drinking water, compost bin, honey bees, etc.

  3.  An ever-more self-reliant homestead.

I mention this because you will see it all running through our little homestead, but the focus of this event is the third. Stephen is now 18, just graduated from high school and will be leaving for collage in the fall. So I’m seeking ways to re-purpose the Child’s Paradise part to serve underprivileged children. I’d welcome your ideas.

For clarity’s sake the objectives of this event are to:

  1.  Have fun, be informative and informal.
  2.  Mutually brainstorm ideas to drive to higher levels of self-reliance on half (½) a suburban acre.
  3.  Promote Geotherm’s current offerings of solar electric and geothermal in a relaxed non-commercial manner. Jesse (Owner Geotherm) and I both abhor the hard sell.
  4.  Begin to assess market interest for additional offerings in the Residential Renewables sector for Geotherm to develop next.

Ok, it’s been awhile again, sorry, but here’s why…
I live my book, the holistic system I created, that is.

It isn’t dithering platitudes meant for momentary motivation that dissolve away…
Especially in the light of day and the harsh realities we now face.

I have 4 professional and 4 personal lifetime passions. I work on them “every” week.
Am I busy, yes, but I still have balance, mainly b/c I’ve created flexibility.

Plus I use every minute of every day as hyper-productively as I possibly can…
Including some rejuvenation time, preferably with my son, every day.

I rarely miss any of Stephen’s sporting events.
That’s part of my “Worthy Father” personal passion.

Why am I telling you this?
B/c the objective of these posts is to help you.

So I’m offering you real life applications and extensions of my holistic system, as I can.
Right now those applications have to be mine.  Soon I hope we can offer yours!

What is the promise of this offering?

A means to create your “unique” path to prosperity and light!

That is, if you’re frustrated and angry enough, if you’re ready to do

The last time you heard from me was Thursday January 24th, about two weeks ago.
Better than three months ago huh!

That is, if these communications actually help you.
I sincerely hope they do.

Well today’s post is all about creating streams of semi-passive income.
In fact, it’s about tapping into these global economic shifts in order to do so, honorably.

So, even if you think you can’t, or especially if you think you can’t.
Stick with me, ok?

This post is the 4th in this series:

Wow, I just realized my last communication was on October 23, 2012.

So much for the one substantive post per month theory, sorry, lots of other stuff in the works…

But, how can I help you actually apply Mid-Life Re-Creation if I don’t communicate?

Well here goes…

This post is the third in a series I’ll refer to as:

It is meant to be a sequel that helps you implement my holistic system (The Prosperity Pyramid) by ongoing example.

It’s been a long time since you heard from me.
Lots going on, some good, some bad, that’s life, huh!

The good I grow, the bad I flip on its back to turn it to good, somehow,
or at least give it a bloody nose, you know me…

I’ve learned a lot since I launched my book offering last November.
The first is that my readers need help to implement the holistic system I invented.
You know, “The Prosperity Pyramid.”

I included all the exercises I call “The Work” in the book.
I’d hoped it could be used as a standalone workbook.
I’m told that doesn’t cut it.

So here’s what I’m going do:

Join us for a Free Question and Answer Conference Call (30-60 min):

  • My objective with these calls is to help you apply and extend the concepts in the book. To get you past sticking points.
  • It is very important for all those participating to have read the entire book, so that I don’t just end up repeating what is in the book. Please!
  • Just enter your requests for this call, your questions and feedback to this post. Once I have enough then I’ll schedule a conference call and let everyone know.

BTW: This post stays at the top. More recent posts follow below.

I'd like to acknowledge Stephen R. Covey's unfortunate passing. I gained so much from his teachings.  They helped me be a better man, strive to be a worthy father and set me on a course for my life that was aligned with my ultimate "end in mind." I'm not there yet, but I take aligned action every day of my life.

Stephen R. Covey was real, he was a good man and he made an enormous contribution. I aspire to the same.  To stand for something of significance, to create a legacy...

I wish his family peace.

For more details about Stephen's passing, please click here.

I invite you to share your thoughts by commenting on this Blog post.

Peace,

Stephen
